New Gib, timber and plaster all need different primers to old, weathered surfaces â getting this step right the first time is what makes the difference between a finish that holds and one that needs redoing within a year or two.
Coat systems often need to meet paint manufacturer warranty requirements on new substrates â we work to Resene's specified systems rather than cutting corners on primer or coat count, inside or outside alike.
New build sites are still live while we work â other trades finishing up, dust, and moisture from recently laid concrete or fresh Gib stopping all affect timing. We plan around that rather than showing up too early and redoing work.
How a new build job runs
Initial site visit and colour schedule confirmation â whether you already have colours picked (or specified by an architect/designer) or need help choosing.
Timing locked in against your build programme, so we're neither too early (site not ready) nor holding up your handover date.
Painting carried out once the site's genuinely ready for it, using the correct primer and coat system for each new surface, inside or outside.
Final walkthrough before handover, with any touch-ups sorted on the spot rather than left as an open snag.
