House Painters In East Auckland
East Auckland Painters
East Auckland covers two quite different markets for a repaint, and knowing which one you're in changes how the job should be approached.
Howick is one of the oldest European settlements in the country, and the housing stock reflects it — a village centre, established streets, and a mix of post-war brick-and-tile, weatherboard bungalows, and homes that have been extended more than once across fifty or sixty years. Pakuranga, Sunnyhills, Farm Cove and Cockle Bay sit in much the same bracket. A few kilometres east, Flat Bush, Botany, Dannemora and Ormiston are among the fastest-growing new-build suburbs in Auckland, full of recently built homes still under builder's warranty or only just out of it.

About
I’m Abdi. I spent four years with The Painter Guy in Wellington, where the business has run since 2013, built on high-quality work and a team that genuinely loves what they do. In early 2026 I opened The Painter Guy in Auckland, and we’re growing here the same way: every project follows the same detailed process, with the client at the heart of it — your vision, brought to life with our expertise.

That difference shapes the whole job. Established homes in Howick and Pakuranga need patient preparation — coatings that have chalked or lifted, timber that has moved with age, and in many cases brick, block or plaster rather than weatherboard, each of which takes its own preparation and its own products. Painting over tired surfaces without cutting back to something sound is the most common reason a repaint fails early.
New builds in Flat Bush and Botany are a different exercise. The surfaces are young and generally sound, so the work is about a clean, efficient finish and a tidy site, often coordinated around warranty conditions or a body corporate. The skill there is accuracy and pace rather than heavy remedial work.
Then there's the coast. Bucklands Beach, Half Moon Bay, Maraetai and Beachlands all sit close enough to the water that salt carries onto exterior surfaces year-round. Salt air is hard on coatings and harder still on fixings, spouting and anything metal. Exterior painting in those pockets needs a system chosen for the exposure — not simply whatever happened to be on the house last time.
All of it is covered by the same team.

We treat brick, block and plaster exteriors — common through older Howick and Pakuranga homes — differently to weatherboard. Different preparation, different primers, different products.
New-build work in Flat Bush, Botany and Ormiston is quoted with builder's warranty terms in mind, so the work doesn't cut across your cover.
Coastal properties in Bucklands Beach, Maraetai and Beachlands get a coating system matched to salt exposure, with proper attention paid to spouting, downpipes and fixings.
Interior painting is scheduled around how you actually live. We work room by room where we can, so the house stays usable.
One team from quote to final inspection — the person who prices your job is the person who sees it through.
